Small Implement Tyre Applications

We have a great selection of all types of small implement equipment and machinery tyres in a variety of different tread patterns. We stock straight rib tyres for use on wheel barrows, trolleys, conveyors and other small implement machines that work on sensitive areas. Our block tyre range is ideal for use on portable generators, trolleys and sack trucks and come in a variety of different brands to cover all budgets. Tractive patterns and Lug tyres are usually found on equipment working on softer or steeper ground and provide extra grip and security for both the machine and operator. These tyres are found on a huge range of small implement machines from wood chippers and snow blowers, through to powered rotovators and tillers. We also have a great selection of zig-zag, chevron and diamond tread tyres that are found on various small machines from truck and trolleys, through to mobility scooter and buggies. Our selection of smooth / slick tyres are ideal for use on much more sensitive ground and for use on go-karts.

Small Implement Tyre Sizes

Finding the correct tyre for your small implement machinery involves knowing the correct tyre size. The size is usually written on the sidewall of the tyre and can be displayed in a number of different ways. We have detailed an explanation of how the different methods of measuring the tyre can be written below. It is very important to make sure you match not only the numbers on the tyre sidewall, but the order in which they are displayed:

Two Digit Imperial Tyre Sizes - e.g. "3.50-8"

This measures the size of the tyres in inches. The first number denotes the overall width of the tyre which is 3.50" in the example above. The last number is the diameter of the rim (wheel) in inches. In this example it would be 8"

Three Digit Imperial Tyre Sizes - e.g. "11x4.00-4"

This measures the size of the tyres in inches. The first number denotes the overall diameter of the tyre which in the example above is 11". The middle number is the overall width of the tyre which is 4" in the example above. The last number is the diameter of the rim (wheel) in inches. In this example it would be 4"

Tubeless (TL) & Tube Type (TT) Tyres

Tyres tend to be either designed to work with an inner tube or without. Often this will be marked on the tyre sidewall as to which type of fitment the tyre has been designed for. 'Tubeless' (TL) means that the tyre has been designed to fit on a rim without the use of an inner tube. A valve is inserted into the rim that creates the seal and allows the tyre to be inflated.

'Tube Type' (TT) means that the tyre has been designed for use with an Inner tube. The internal construction of the tyre is usually a lot smoother so that the tube doesn't experience unnecessary friction or chafing inside the tyre.

Although it is possible to put inner tubes in a tubeless tyre, it isn't always advisable. The extra friction and wear that can be endured in this situation can cause premature failure of the inner tube, which in turn could lead to premature failure of the tyre. Tube type tyres can fit on most rims, but if changing from a tube type tyre to a tubeless, it is not just the tyre type that needs checking as it also necessary that the wheel itself is capable of being used with a tubeless tyre.
